Speaking opportunity

We courteously invite you to submit your topics/papers for the Future of Steel Markets conference. The scope of the papers includes but is not limited to:
  1. The short and long term price outlook of the steel markets.
  2. An overview of the scrap markets: demand and challenges.
  3. Future perspective of raw materials and its impact on the steel industry.
  4. Consolidation prospects over the next twelve months.
  5. Prospects for manufacturing, consuming, and import-export.
  6. Euro Zone steel markets, what recovery schemes are in place and what are their impacts on European steel markets.
  7. Russian and CIS steel markets, how have they been affected. Are there any likely long term implications from the rapid shift in commodity and resource markets.
  8. Where is the Turkish market headed and have any opportunities been created here?
  9. China - How quickly and to what extent is their recovery anticipated to be? Has the government created enough domestic demand to mitigate the drop off in foreign demand?
  10. What is the current state of Indian markets and what if any opportunities exist in the land of the Nano.
  11. Iran's steel import and consumption.
  12. Long products market analysis and forecast.
  13. Flat products market analysis and forecast.
  14. Trade dynamics for rebar and galvanized steel in Turkey.
  15. Freight costs have dropped off substantially and ship availability has eased also. Is the outlook for more of the same?
  16. Steel futures - a turning point for the industry? What are the various steel contracts being launched on the various exchanges? Do they provide any value to the steel community or are they just a way for the financial community to manipulate and profit from the steel industry?
  17. Analysis and forecast of steel construction market in the region.
  18. Assessment of automotive market.
  19. Painted & galvanised market - what's on the horizon?
  20. Performance overview of tube & pipe market.

Proceeding for speakers

  • Presentations are to be given in English.
  • It is not acceptable for company information to be included in presentations.
  • All presentations will be 15-20 minutes in length - with five minutes for questions.
  • All presenters must use PowerPoint software. All authors must also supply a written version of their paper in MSWord format in English, maximum length 3000 words - see the detailed instructions for authors.
  • You should also include a short biography of the presenter (100 words maximum). This should include your initial training, your main work experience and your family situation/interests.
  • All presenters must use a standard introductory 'slide', which will include the conference logo, the title of the presenter and the title of the presentation. This slide must also be used at the end of all presentations, while the question session is underway. Other 'slides' may take whatever form the presenters wish, but should include the conference logo in any of the four corners.
